Little League Baseball play begins soon...

The Carney Little League Baseball Field, known as the Justin Thompson Memorial Park, located in Woody Wilson Park, was in need of repairs. The Carney Betterment Association installed new boards for the seats, took off the old roofs on the dugouts, and put up new metal roofs. Two coats of paint were put on the new seating for both the bleachers, and the dugouts. Fencing was put up around the dugouts to protect our athletes, and around the field as well. My, what an improvement! Little League play begins very soon, and we wanted our young athletes to have a nice safe place to participate in sports. We have a new T-ball league starting up this year, for ages 3 years to 7 years. Not only are the parents excited about this, but everyone is. Watching the little ones learn to play ball and participate in sports is so much fun. |
